Costa Rica!
Hola! We're back from Costa Rica....wow! Naturally, our pictures are terrible because 1. our camera sucks and 2. I'm a terrible photographer but I think that I'll be able to post at least a few that can give you a small view of our trip. I'll post pictures soon, I promise.
To begin with, yes, it was hard leaving the baby behind. Logistically, we knew that it would have been hellish to try and take her--in no way a vacation for any of us--but the morning that we left for the airport, she had a snotty nose and was extra sad-looking. This primal thing came over me and I cried the whole way to the airport.
Costa Rica was like no place that I've ever seen, or really any place that I thought I'd ever see! Volcanoes (which are really tall, y'all!); hot springs (HEAVEN!); monkeys (not even in cages or on a diamond-encrusted leash, being led from club to club by Paris Hilton!); flowers and plants like you can't even imagine...it was crazy-cool. James and Jen's wedding was beautiful and perfect. It poured rain the whole time--complete with lightening and thunder, in the middle of the rainforest.
Finally, I did the freakin' zip line. Still can't believe that I went through with it. I've never been that scared in my whole life. It was like that dream you have, right as you're dozing off, that you're falling and you awaken with a shudder. I pretty much lost any amount of religion that I had, from screaming obscenities the whole way, from platform to platform. Those Howler Monkeys below the zip line sure got an education in the English language.
More trip details and pictures will follow.
