Baby-Napping
This morning, at 1:45am, I woke with a start, realizing that the baby hadn't woken up for her feeding/diaper change yet. It had been about 3 hours and I was shocked/concerned that she hadn't started crying yet. Being the worry-wart mom that I am, I jumped out of bed, sure that something was wrong with her. I went over to her Pack n Play (which is located in our bedroom and where she's been sleeping since we brought her home from the hospital) and looked in it to check on her. Her sleep positioner was there, with the blanket still firmly tucked around it, but there was no baby in it. I panicked and checked our bed, thinking that Kevin had gotten up with her, fed her and then let her sleep in our bed with us--but, there was no baby in our bed. Lastly, I went into her bedroom to see if Kevin had put her down in her crib--no Anna Claire there either. I was in full-on panic-mode by this time and was sure that someone had kidnapped her (ironic twist to follow). In a last-ditch effort to find my child, I went back to our bedroom and pulled the blanket off of the sleep positioner and there was our little frog girl, who'd wiggled her way to the bottom of the sleep positioner and was under the blanket. She was all curled up in a ball, squished right up against the side of the Pack n Play, completely under the blanket. I was scared that she'd suffocated under there, but when I pulled the blanket away, she was snoozing peacefully and seemed upset that I'd disturbed her peaceful slumber.
Now for the ironic twist to this story (or, the Scooby Doo Ending, if you will): For those few seconds when the baby was missing, I was concerned that someone had broken into our home and kidnapped her. Well, about 9:30 this morning, Kevin went to leave our house to run an errand and discovered that our garage had been broken into in the middle of the night. The bad dudes made off with lots of stuff--they must've backed a truck up and loaded it. So, my concern about someone breaking in and stealing our baby were not completely irrational.

A Birth Story In Pictures
...until I can find the time to write a proper birth story, I thought I'd share some of the pics of Anna Claire's birth. It's still a fuzzy blur to me.

SNL- An SNL Digital Short- Body Fusion
This probably won't stay up on You Tube long so enjoy it while it lasts. This is classic--they nailed every 80's aerobics video that I've ever seen.
